Various churches in Kenya, including the National Council of Churches of Kenya disagrees to this, for they do not want abortion to be permitted in the Kenyan law, whatever the circumstances of the mother may be. in their view, it does not affirm religious freedoms and, according to their interpretation, it does not expressly outlaw abortion. An American-based group, who are also a part of the debate, and are also, like the Kenyan churches, opposing the clause on conditional abortion has donated “tens of thousands of dollars” to help defeat Kenya’s proposed constitution.
This is a problem in our nation, because it creates conflict between the christian group (which, as a matter of fact, creates a big percentage of of the citizens in Kenya), the Kenyan government. To make matters more complicated, both sides are supported by various American-based groups.
"Abortion is another name for child killing or a murder of a yet-to-be-born human being. The Government has to be very strict about abortions and making it illegal is the best way it can take steps against such killings.
ReplyDeleteAs has been rightly done, abortion is permitted only in extreme cases, which is fair enough and also necessary.
The Government should also take steps to protect the new born children. If the Government can promise a good future for every child born, then perhaps the idea of getting an abortion done could get eventually erased from the minds of everyone. To add further, it is not only the new born child, but also the mother who needs to be taken care of, pre and post delivery.
Let us try to understand why recourse to an abortion is thought of? This idea comes mainly to those who are unsure of themselves and of the to-be-born child. The fact that the mother is unable to take care of herself itself is the main reason for abortions happening. But if she is given assurance of being looked after, then why wouldn't she be happy to become a mother.
Next is the case of aborting if the child is supposedly a female (prevalent in India). This can also be taken care of by the Government by making the pre birth tests illegal and also taking strict actions against those who resort to such test to find out whether the child will be born a boy or a girl.
Abortion is hatred for mankind. How can the world be a beautiful place to live in if we tend to hate our own children? If we believe in "live and let others live", then how can we throw the axe on the innocent lives who are unable to retaliate!" by Punita Bansal
